Because I love London...

On the 10th of August, I visited London, for the first time, after nearly two years I live in UK. That is too long for not visiting my beloved city. Not need to mention that when I was living in Greece, I was flying to London more often, than now that I live in England! I exagerate a bit, but I want to tell how I missed the city.
London is an attractive city for me. There is something in the atmosphere that makes you (me) love it, (or fall in Love with...).
This time I stayed  in The Strand Palace Hotel. This hotel  is in such a convenient location! You do not need to use any transportation, because everything is in walking distance. Of course, when I say “everything”, I mean everything I needed in this visit, that is a good West End musical, some nice pubs and restaurants, coffee shops, the bank of the river with view of all interesting buildings, and the whole Covent Garden, “one of London’s most exciting public spaces playing host to a range of arts and culture events. From the architectural splendour of its neoclassical covered Market to such world-class arts venues as the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden is a much-loved place. Situated in the heart of London’s West End and attracting almost 45 million visitors a year, it is an area steeped in history dating back to the 16th century. Whether you want so-hip-it-hurts fashion, unique gift shops or rare sweet treats, the Covent Garden shopping experience is a revelation.”
I very much enjoy walking up and down the whole area of Covent Garden, where street performers do their best to attract spectators.

I like to look the performances in the “hole” itself, as I call this part of Covent Garden that is downstairs in the “hole”.

I love the buildings in Henrietta Street, (red in one side of the street, white in the other side)  and the name of the street itself, as it is the name of my daughter and mother.

I fancy having a drink in the pubs, like Coach and Horses, even if it is after a drink in Henry's bar, in Henrietta street, that I left half drunk, to go to Dirty Martini, which eventually did not happen, and I popped in Coach and Horses instead. It is something like a mini pub crawl for sober guys, (pub crawl 'gia ksenerotus' in greek, ξενέρωτους)
I very much admire those small parks that are everywhere, like The Victoria Embankment Gardens that are a series of gardens on the north side of the River Thames between Blackfriars Bridge and Westminster Bridge.

I am thrilled to walk in the banks of River Thames, and look at the skyline of London...

I could go on forever, because like Christmas that are always coming, so London is always in my heart. I hope soon to have more access to the big city. But for now I can only say "Amen"
